A necklace, butterfly type, is one of the most elegant you can wear. This is my personal opinion, but I think it has merit. I am someone who loves nature, and I think the butterfly makes such a wonderful image in paintings, beautifully designed silver jewelry and as live motion (video). Probably my favorite nature film is that of a languid beauty sailing amongst a bush full of fragrant flowers, something I’d expect to see on Animal Planet or some other nature show.
Hand crafted silver necklaces have a lot of sentimental meaning to me as well. I still have some wonderful pieces from my childhood. Even when they tarnish, I know that underneath that patina is the beautiful sterling silver design waiting to reemerge. So I keep them and think about one day passing them down to my grandchildren. Meaningful pendants that continue their existence through generations of family – I love the thought!
But of course I have butterfly earrings and at least a hundred other types of hand made silver jewelry as well. I imagine I’ll continue collecting for many years to come!
